A few things before I get to the titular bit of news:

I've changed my URL. Everything about the site is the same, it's just under a different name now. I wrote a bit more about the change in my blog post but the short version is that it just works a lot better for me.

Also, while it was unannounced last month, my stories are on hiatus. A lot of things came up throughout March, including the deaths of my two dogs, and I was only able to work on Willow's Tale. The hiatus is continuing through April, while get my work back in order. I'll be drawing, but not posting outside of my Patreon. Regular updates resume in May. I'm also working on another story that will start (most likely) in mid-May.

Now for the fun news. All of the art for Willow's Tale is complete! There are a few pages not yet posted on the site, but everything is drawn. I'm looking into getting printed copies to sell. ^^ I'll have more information about that soon. In the meantime, I have more to work on.

Apparently, while I wrote my report for my website, I forgot to provide any updates here. Sorry about that. I'll just summarize my progress for January and a little of this month here, and if you want the full January report you can read it here.

Threads went on an unplanned hiatus for January (and half of February by accident) while I spent much longer than anticipated setting up two new stories. That also preventing me from finishing the art for Willow's Tale. However, I succeeded in recoding my comics' themes and fixed up the looks a little. I also launched two new comics:

Fear Without A Name: a 70-page story about monsters born of fear and a stranger without a name. It updates on Mondays.
My Resident Ghost: a slice-of-life story about a guy that moves into a haunted apartment, and other supernatural nonsense. It updates on Wednesdays.

I am planning to update the main page for my site soon, but February hasn't been easy on me so far. I've been getting sick a lot, which makes it hard to do anything. (Admittedly, a good part of that is due to my own forgetfulness and neglect.) Still, I'm going to do my best, and I'm really excited about these new stories.

I wasn't able to finish drawing Willow's Tale like I wanted to, thanks to a lot of weird stuff that cropped up in the last few weeks. I even had to take my cat to the vet last night (new year's eve). She's okay, but it was a lot of waiting...Side note: I'll be opening commissions soon to cover her vet bill.

I worked out a schedule for the new stories I've been planning. One of them is going to start in mid-January, the other will start in February. More information on them will be revealed in the coming weeks. ;) The Secret Project from October is one of them. The other is something I've really wanted to do for a while, and it's going to be super fun.

For a little while, I'll be working on four comics at once, in addition to my work. That'll be a little less fun but the end result will be totally worth it. If you want to help me on these, you can support my Patreon or share it around. I post comic pages there as I finish them, and details about these upcoming stories will be posted there before anywhere else.

Hey there. I finished drawing Threads chapter 3 and have the next one all planned out. Work on Willow's Tale is coming along well, too. My goal is to have all of the pages drawn by the end of the year, and that still looks pretty doable. I've actually been working to figure out what projects I'm going to start next year. I want to have a timeline for my projects and actually stick to my schedule properly, unlike how this year has gone. I haven't been the most diligent...I haven't even finished the code editing for my comic themes...still...

Back on the main subject, now. Last time, I mentioned a Secret Project that I started in October. That is going to be worked on next year, definitely, and I want to work on at least one other story as well. I need to figure out which one. I have a lot of ideas. *-* There are a couple of serious stories and a couple silly ones. One in particular, I'm thinking of starting up because just thinking about it makes me really happy.

I'll have a lot to work on next year but I'm so excited about it. ^^

It's certainly been a while, huh? I was really busy with something last month and kind of put everything on hold because of it, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to offer more details about what that something is. A timeline hasn't been properly established, so it's just a Secret Project for now. A personal secret, but secret nonetheless. The good news is that the Secret Project is a really fun thing for me. Even if I have to wait, I'm really happy about it.

Also, because of that Secret Project, I still haven't finished the website code cleanup. It's back on the table now, but I'm not sure yet when it'll be done. And to think, I meant to finish this weeks ago...

In other news, now relating to things I'm currently working on, I finished drawing the first part of Willow's Tale. Part 2 is The Tale of Willow and Vine, and I'm super happy to start it. As you can probably guess by the title, Vine is a new character.

There's only a few pages left to Threads chapter 3. To be perfectly honest, I'd hoped to be able to finish both stories' chapters at the same time, but it wasn't meant to be. Still, being able to wrap up the art for two chapters in quick succession is still good, so I'll take my victories. Once I wrap up this chapter of Threads and get a decent buffer for Willow's Tale again, I'll be able to take a proper look at next year's timeline. There's a few things I want to do, including that Secret Project and another little thing I've been thinking a lot about. If you want to help me on these, you can support my Patreon or share it around. ;) I post comic pages there as I finish them.

So many plans, so little time, but I'm having fun. And just because I can, here's a WIP of something I've been working on sporadically. It's nowhere near finished, but it's at least somewhat presentable.

Wow, I completely forgot to update this. Sorry it's been almost two months. So, on to the updates:

What started as a simple clean-up of my website code turned into me completely changing it's base and adding a little blog page. Visually, though, it's not really any different except for the main navigation buttons. As for the comic themes, rewriting them in a more organized fashion has been a little more involved than I anticipated, but I'm almost done with the first one. After that, it's a matter of copy/pasting and editing relevant bits into the other theme files. I really should've done a better job the first time around. sigh Oh well.

Now for the stories. The first part of Willow's Tale is almost finished, which is great for me. Threads's third chapter is moving along pretty well, too. It's hard for me to only work on two stories at a time because I have so many ideas that I want to draw...There's a third story at the forefront of my brain that I really want to start but it's too soon to think about it, right now. I need to figure out some things first. But I want to draw them all...

(If you want to help me get more stories drawn, support me on Patreon. ;) )

Threads Chapter 3 is about a third of the way to completion. Willow and Wren is about halfway finished, which in turn means that Willow's Tale itself is near the 25% mark. It feels good to hit my stride again, drawing these stories. I also finally drew a proper cover for Threads, which I posted a few days ago. That made me happier than it really should have, honestly.

I plan to fix the websites a little bit, soon. Mostly cleaning the CSS, not necessarily anything that would be visible. I've been meaning to fix that up for a while, actually...there's a lot of reorganizing needed...

On the titular subject of this post, I just started a little Patreon thing for my stories. If you like my stories, please consider supporting me there. Any amount is appreciated. I'll be posting my comic pages there as I finish them, rather than just once a week, so you'd get to see things potentially much sooner. ;)

I'm almost halfway done with the first part of Willow's Tale. Hooray! I do kind of regret the backgrounds, but at the same time the current style is far easier than the alternatives so...mixed feelings all around. Threads' third chapter is at about 20% now.

I think I've been sick for about a month straight, now. Not terribly, but it's at the point where it's just enough to be annoying, but not bad enough to make me need to do anything about it. On the other hand, I've been working to get my sleep schedule a little less screwed up and so far it seems to be going...somewhere. I've been waking up in the middle of the night and unable to fall back asleep properly. Interestingly, I think that's because my brain thinks i should be sleeping from about 4pm to 2am right now.

Lots of things still need to be finished, but work is going better. Now if I can just sleep through the night...

Every now and then, the summer solstice falls on my birthday. Generally, it seems to happen when there's a leap year. Another bit of trivia: tonight happens to be what's known as the strawberry moon: a full moon where the moons glow is a pale amber. I saw it earlier, coming home from the store. Quite a lovely sight.

I'm still sick, but not as much as last week. I'm getting back into the comic flow again, and things seem to be going well now. Hopefully it'll keep up and I'll get less sick. :D

Speaking of getting sick a lot, my sister sometimes asks me how I can function as a human being. I get sick easily, get motion sick easily, and seem to injure my self a lot. My response to her, generally, is that I don't.

Back on the subject, art is moving along now. It's nice to see the stories come together as the pages are completed. Makes me feel accomplished.

Thanks to everyone that wished me a happy birthday. I appreciate it. c:

I keep getting sick. I don't know why. Around the end of May, I got a cold and spent a week trying to get over it. Just when I thought I was safe, I went to house-sit for my mom for a weekend and it came back like it had a life-long grudge. Another week goes by, the first week of June is effectively wasted because of the cold, but finally I'm okay again...until yesterday, when a cough and sore throat started poking at me.

Because of this increasingly persistent sickness, I haven't been able to draw as much as I wanted, and haven't really been able to finish more comic pages, which really sucks because there's a lot that I want to do but...sickness. I'll tough it out, though. There's too much to do for me to spend all my time coughing into the night. It's no fun rolling around my room feeling miserable, anyway. Until I'm better (again), I'll be slower, but still working.

Now that all the complaining is out of the way, I've been doing a lot of on-paper sketches for things I want to work on. Some short stories, a really silly idea for a slice-of-life kind of story, a lot of stupid jokes featuring the Threads characters that don't really have a place in the story proper, and so on. It might be a bad idea for me to think about other stories when I still have trouble with the ones I'm currently working on due to dumb things delaying me, but I can't stop my brain from thinking of things. That's why they're on paper in my desk, added to my ever-growing list of "Things That Need Doing (eventually)".

When I get caught back up on everything, I'll share more about the slice-of-life story. I think I'm going to make a section on my site, later, for all the one-shot ideas I come up with...when I have more completed. Something to consider at a later date.

In other news, my birthday's coming up. A great excuse to get some cake. >u>

I have Chapter 3 of Threads all set up and ready for me to go and draw. There are 27 pages in there, which leads me to wonder what's going on in my brain. Will chapters keep getting longer? Who knows. More relevant, the outfits for Miles and Keenan have been decided on. I decided to let Keenan's wonderful hair make an appearance, so his hood is down.

The first part of Willow's Tale is about 25% drawn. I still have quite a ways to go, but it makes me happy when I draw them. The backgrounds and things aren't too complicated, so it's actually pretty relaxing to go into the blueish-grayscale world.

In other news, I wanted to follow some people so I went and made a twitter account. If you're ever bored for about three minutes, you can go here and look at the stupid things I post. Since it's brand new, right now it's just comic stuff and pictures of my cats.

I finished drawing the second chapter of Threads! The pages yet to be posted will make a nice little buffer while I start on the third chapter. I basically know what's going on in the next chapter, but there are a few scenes that need to be organized a bit.

There's also Willow's Tale pages that are coming along nicely. I've figured out a way to speed up the work process a little, and I've actually come to enjoy the process of drawing its backgrounds. I made it as simple as possible and it's fun. c:

I still have no idea when I'll be able to share details of the third thing I'm working on, but for the time being it doesn't really matter. It's a side project that's worked on/thought of sporadically anyway.

In other news, I've had a lot of trouble sleeping lately for no reason at all and would really like for it to stop. It's like a switch flipped on in my brain to say "eh, who sleeps?" and now refuses to let me rest properly. Just let me shut down at night, please, brain. ;-;

Still won't stop me from drawing, though. I'm too stubborn for that.

>Or see some dumb things here<

April is over halfway gone and my brain is having trouble keeping up with the flow of time. But that's not really anything unusual, is it? I spend a lot of my days wondering where they're going.

Threads Chapter 2 is almost finished. I only have four pages left to draw for it. I'm working out the next chapter in my head, while I'm at it. I also did a little bit of site fixing over the past few weeks, just small CSS things that I noticed that were in need of tweaking. And I swapped out the banner for Threads with one that fit the site's look a little better. By that, I mean it's incredibly minimalistic. By that, I mean it's really just some lines. XD But it works for the site so who cares how simple it is, right?

Willow's Tale is going to be posted on Tuesdays starting next week. Life things kept putting it off for me but now I most definitely am going to start posting its pages even if it kills me (it won't kill me, no worries).

I've also been doing a lot of sketches and scribbles for another thing that can hopefully begin before too long, but it's unknown when I'll have anything concrete to say about that.

In unrelated news, I mentioned in the last journal that I had a loft bed and wanted to set the underside up as a game space for myself. I'm pleased to say that it's all set up with my games and a nice chair and a TV that my Wii is hooked up to, so I can play video games whenever I feel like. I also have to see the dentist again next month for a cleaning. Fun times.

Okay, you know how I took a week off last month to play Fire Emblem non-stop? (To give my arting side a break too, of course, but I'm not fooling anyone by saying FE wasn't a big factor.)
That was wonderful. Absolutely fun. I love Fire Emblem games. In fact, my sister's husband is letting me borrow Shadow Dragon so I'll play that too when I get a chance. But first, I have the Revelations storyline to get through. And that will most likely happen when......I'm house-sitting for my mother next week. Not something I'm particularly looking forward to, since it means getting about two weeks' worth of stuff done in one in order to not die. On the other hand, Revelations. And Harvest Moon, which has been neglected on account of me not having a place to put my TV (and not wanting to sit in the living room where my sister's kid would try to steal the controls from me).

In game-related news, I have a loft bed frame now, so I'm going to turn the underside into a game corner. I just need a stand for the television and something to sit on, and maybe some curtains to seal off the outside world while I bury myself in fantasy lands and idk marry random anime boys in the video games or something. Like the wizard in Harvest Moon: Animal Parade. He's so cute I'm dying.

As for my projects, I'm almost done with the site setup for Willow's Tale. Not sure if I'll be able to start posting this month like I wanted (I say even though I'd originally planned for February) so it'll just sit and roll around my computer while I finish some more pages (always have a buffer) and figure out the best timing.

Unrelated news: I went to see the dentist for the first time in forever last week. He told me to see an orthodontist to work out what to do for my teeth because I need braces like super bad and I'm just thinking, "yeah. I've known that for the last 10 years". Oh well~. They may be aligned crooked, but at least they're structurally sound.

And a final bit of non-mouth-related news, I recently found out that Pokemon Sun and Moon are coming out later this year.
Bring on the hype train.

Some technical difficulties kept me from starting Willow's Tale last month, but they've been more or less resolved by now. I just need to get the site set up and fix up a few things with the pages before properly launching it. I intend to start posting now around the middle of March.

Monsters is finished. Unless at some point in the future, I think of a something to add to the story, it's as complete as I want it to be. It was never going to be very involved, an experiment to see what I can do in 24 pages, but once in a while a thought pops into my head about what else might be done with it. I might explore one of those thoughts down the line.

Threads is going pretty well, so far. I'm almost halfway through drawing this chapter.

I'll be taking a break at the end of this month to rest my arting limbs. By pure coincidence, Fire Emblem: Fates is coming out on the 19th and I am super excited for that. ADVENTURE! FIGHTING! Marrying off all the pretty people!

This might be a decent February after all. It's never really been a kind month to me, but it's hard to argue with new games.

>Or see some dumb things here<

The first month of the year is already half over and I have no idea why. Did I sleep through the last two weeks or what? (The answer is "probably".)

Monsters is almost done. Just two more pages to post, then it'll be complete. When that finishes, I'm going to start posting pages for Willow's Tale. Not because of strategic timing or anything, but because in catching up on other things I took too long getting this story ready and at this point I may as well wait a little.
Threads is going well. Working my way through the pages at a pretty steady pace.

Work sure is a pain. On the other hand, after all the fussing of December, it's nice being able to calmly work on my stories again. Holidays are not that fun when you're also relocating. But that's all done, so on to more entertaining things.

I say this to myself a lot, but I'm going to try to be more active here in posting things.

On a completely different note, I accidentally kicked one of my cats in the head and now she's afraid of my feet. I really can't blame her. Feet are dangerous.

Well, this has been an adventure the likes of which I hope to never experience again (or at least for another year).
I spent the last few weeks in between work relocating to a new residence, so work on everything slowed to a crawl. But that's done now, I'm all settled and playing a charming game of "the gods will not forgive you if you keep falling behind on things so catch up and do it now".

On the other hand, I spent some holiday-season time with my family when my brother came down from Kentucky (he'll be going back in the first week of January). That's been fun. He helps me clean and poses for me when I need a drawing reference.
We siblings went to visit my mother today, and she spent much of it recording my sister's toddler as he played with his new toys. For some reason, she gave me soap as a gift (not complaining; I like the smell). And chocolate. Chocolate and soap. Interesting combination, huh?

Meanwhile, in story-related news:
Threads Chapter 2 has started.
Monsters is about 6 pages away from being completed.
I'm almost ready to start posting pages for Willow's Tale. That might be another two or so weeks, if I can get caught up again by the new year.

I hope those of you that celebrate Christmas enjoyed a nice holiday with whoever you celebrate with. And those that don't, I hope your day was pleasant and peaceful in the absence of pointy trees.

Threads Chapter 1 is nearing its end. It's not that impressive when you consider that it only had 17 pages, but it still feels like an accomplishment to me so I'll take it. Chapter 2 is going to be a bit longer, 24 pages, and that's probably where most subsequent chapters will sit.
I've got a few pages for Chapter 2 done already.
I need to do a couple little things for the site still, but there's no rush on that. Just adding a page once I get a little spare time.

Monsters, meanwhile, is about 2/3 complete as far as pages being posted are concerned.

As for things that actively require my attention, I hope to start posting pages for Willow's Tale within the next month or so. Definitely before Monsters is finished.
This one's going to be a lot of work. :|
On the other hand, I enjoy the story, and I'll be posting some art for it soon.

In other news, since I no longer have a core membership for dA, the "Project List" from my profile page is going to be moved to my profile box, rather than sitting on the left in its own text box.

>Or see some dumb things here<

Setting up for the next leg of my story writing adventure is taking a little bit longer than expected, mostly because my job stuff is taking longer than expected. But it took longer partially because I'm stupid, and also because over the past few days, I was hanging out with my family a lot in advance of my brother leaving for Kentucky. He's going to get all educated and job-trained or something like that. Also some house fixing took place last week.

I do have Chapter 2 of Threads all set up and waiting for me to work on it, but Willow's story is taking some more time because I'm actually trying to figure out parts of the story to rewrite and how to go about such a thing. There's a lot I want to add to the story parts that are written, and I may end up writing more for it later. I need to work that out. It may end up something I can't really see how to do until I'm actually drawing it (that happens sometimes).

I also need to finish up these work things. Those shouldn't be too much longer, but there is quite a bit right now...

On the other hand, during the last week, I was able to reorganize my site layouts and get some better banners up. :D I'm rather happy with how it all looks now. There are a couple small things that still need to be added, but that can wait a bit.

I DID IT.
I finished drawing all of the pages for Monsters and the first chapter of Threads!
I feel so accomplished right now.

About Monsters:
A page is uploaded every Wednesday >here< until all 24 are up. Having all the pages completed basically means I'll never miss the deadline unless I'm a dummy and forget about it. XD

About Threads:
I upload those pages on Sunday >here< and this story is probably going to have a lot of chapters to it. This first chapter is 17 pages long but the lengths will most likely vary wildly so who knows how much of an accomplishment finishing the first really is, in the grand scheme of things. Still makes me happy though.

AND NOW, FOR THE NEXT STAGE:
I am, as mentioned in my previous journal entry, going to take next week to plan the next leg of my project schedule.
This means planning/sketching the second chapter of Threads and planning the next short story, and clearing up some other work that's been sitting around...

The next short story is actually something I intended to do last year (though it's probably for the best that I waited this long). It's a redrawing of something from late 2012: the story of this kid. That means, among other things, redesigns for the characters and changing a lot of things with the paneling. But I'm not going to link to the original version because the art makes me feel a little awkward....

In addition to those, I'm hoping to try to work on another story but some more things will need to be figured out before it can be set yet.
Possibly another story if things go really well?
I'm not sure at the moment. There are so many things I want to work on, but I have to be smart about it. XD

For now, the definite projects are Willow's story (redraw) and Threads's second chapter.
And making some better banners for my site, omg.
